Victorian Parliament - Inquiry into Access by Donor

When you want a baby, sometimes there are no other options than going the "sperm donors way". By law, sperm donors in Australia must provide identifying information. So intended parents who want a baby through donor conception can look for sperm donors in a sperm bank.

The Victorian Parliament (in Australia) recently initiated an Inquiry into access by Donor-Conceived People to Information About Donors. The Committee has announced a call for submissions to the Inquiry, with submissions due by 12 August 2011, although extensions to the submission date will be considered.

The Inquiry principally focuses on issues surrounding donor conception from previous decades, although some of the issues considered may be of interest to people currently contemplating, or engaged with, donor conception.
